Day 1 – Zanzibar to Materuni Village
Fly from Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, head to Materuni, a settlement in the foothills of Kilimanjaro. It provides a genuine glimpse into Tanzania’s local life, devoid of the usual tourist trappings. Start with a visit to a local coffee plantation, where you’ll learn about coffee cultivation and have a chance to roast and grind your own coffee. Immerse on a guided hike to Materuni Waterfall, passing by local fruit and vegetable plantations, while your guide shares insights into the culture. Conclude the day trip with a refreshing dip in the waterfall pool and enjoy a delightful picnic lunch before returning to your accommodation at Moivaro Lodges and Camps.

Day 2 – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, depart from the hotel for the journey to Lake Manyara National Park. En route, make a stop at the market town of Mto Wa Mbu, known for its agricultural and fresh produce market, a melting pot of cultures and a haven for souvenir hunters. Once you enter Lake Manyara National Park, prepare for a photographer’s paradise and excellent game watching opportunities. Expect to encounter some of Africa’s most famous creatures, including the unique tree-climbing lions, who often lounge under acacia branches, posing for the perfect photo. The park is also a paradise for bird watchers, with a wide variety of species to admire, such as large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the stunning lilac-breasted roller. After the day’s adventures, return to your chosen accommodation at Ngorongoro Forest Tented Camp for a delicious dinner and a restful night’s sleep.

Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, often hailed as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” The Ngorongoro Conservation Area houses over 120 mammal species, including the legendary Big Five, making it one of the most sought-after safari destinations in the world. Observe the endangered black rhinoceros as they enjoy solitary meals on the grass plains, and witness a large number of hippos relaxing in the cool waters.
